About SRM & WSSA

The Society for Range Management is:

A well-trained and highly motivated group of professionals and rangeland users working with productive, sustainable rangeland ecosystems. Our Mission is to promote the professional development and continuing education of members, the public and the stewardship of rangeland resources.

We are a professional society dedicated to supporting persons who work with rangelands and have a commitment to their sustainable use. Rangelands comprise almost one-half of all the lands in the world. They are extremely important to society for the goods and services they produce as well as for the ecological services they provide. SRM is dedicated to the conservation and sustainable management of rangelands for the benefit of current societies and for future generations.

Become a member of SRM and help insure the sustainability of rangelands for the future. Visit our website to learn how to join or for more information.

The WSSA is:

The Weed Science Society of America is a non-profit professional society that was founded in 1956.

Our mission is to promote research, education, and extension outreach activities related to weeds. We provide science-based information to the public and policy makers. We foster awareness of weeds and their impact on managed and natural ecosystems.

The WSSA functions through the voluntary efforts of professionals who participate on committees and donate their time to serve the membership.

The Society publishes three professional journals: Weed Science, Weed Technology, and Invasive Plant Science and Management. Monographs, reference materials, and other research or educational aides are also produced from time to time.
