Ph.D. degree in rangeland ecology or a closely related field such as plant ecology, agronomy or weed science.
This is a 12-month, part-time (.75 FTE) tenure-track position. The Department of Rangeland Ecology and Management will support the .25 FTE salary balance for the first two years.
Education or research experience should emphasize arid land soil-plant-animal
dynamics and plant ecophysiology and autecology. The incumbent will be expected to develop a dynamic teaching program which
will include undergraduate courses in rangeland ecology including plant physiology and a graduate level course.
Ability to work cooperatively with land management agencies and private landowners is necessary. Knowledge of plant
community measurement and analysis techniques including statistical design and multivariate approaches.
Preferences will be given to candidates with at least one degree in Rangeland Resources, a demonstrated understanding of
plant-soil-animal interactions in rangeland settings and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Familiarity with SAS, Statistica or S-plus statistical software and a valid driver's license are also beneficial.
