The National Riparian Service Team (NRST) located in Prineville, Oregon will soon be advertising to fill an Interdisciplinary
GS-408/430/470/454 Ecologist/Botanist/Soil Scientist/Rangeland Management Specialist. This is a permanent-full time position
with the Bureau of Land Management with a duty station of Prineville, Oregon. This notification is being circulated to
inform prospective applicants of this upcoming opportunity.
The focus of this position is riparian ecology. The incumbent will serve as the principal NRST specialist for riparian-wetland
ecology which includes knowledge of ecology, botany, soil science, and range management. The incumbent will be expected to
possess considerable expertise in riparian plant ecology and soils and have excellent communication skills. Because the NRST is
a national interagency resource, significant travel will be required for this position.
The National Riparian Service Team is a group of interagency/interdisciplinary specialists tasked with the challenge of
implementing the Creeks and Communities Strategy, an innovative and adaptive approach that addresses both the technical
and social aspects of riparian-wetland issues.
