Department of Forest, Rangeland and Fire Sciences

The Department of Forest, Rangeland, and Fire Sciences, www.uidaho.edu/cnr/feb, is the academic home to 25 faculty and more than 80 graduate and 250 undergraduate students. This creates a dynamic department with Masters and PhD programs in Natural Resources and undergraduate degree programs in Fire Ecology and Management, Forest Resources, Rangeland Ecology and Management, and Renewable Materials. Faculty and staff in the department direct a host of diverse research and outreach activities, including the Center for Forest Nursery and Seedling Research, Idaho Stable Isotopes Laboratory, Inland Empire Tree Improvement Cooperative, Intermountain Forest Tree Nutrition Cooperative, Rangeland Center, Stillinger Herbarium, and Wildland Fire Program. Department faculty, staff, and students work through these programs to maintain an engaged stakeholder base throughout the state of Idaho and beyond.
